Lake: Hudson Fishing Pond

Hudson Fishing Pond

Super random and not trying to be rude, but saw the lake was updated and couldn't help to laugh.

I went here one time on the way back from Banner Lakes. We had skunked there and we saw it on the GPS on the way home, so we decided to see if we could at least catch one fish for the day. It looked small on Google maps, but I didn't realize how small it really was. If I remember coorectly, a full loop around it is maybe a quarter mile. There was quite a few people there and was confused since I would've guessed that the pond couldn't even support fish except for a few minnows maybe. The water was super dirty and I figured it was worth a shot since we had made the stop. My third cast I caught a rainbow about the length of my middle finger and barely bigger than the panther Martin. I decided okay maybe there was some better fish into it, until everyone there was completely shocked that I had caught anything. I decided after that that at least I didn't go home skunked and left.

Definitley a place that was a one time shot for me, and probably won't return. I just thought I would share the story because it was definitely something different and I was shocked to see a report for it, since I didn't know anyone else had ever really known about it.

Maybe I was impatient and there is some better fish in it? Has anyone else ever fished it? It would be cool to hear if anyone has caught anything better out of there, but most people have probably not fished it.

Never fished it . but I did do a little " fishing" for you about it. C.P.W. stocking report shows last stocked 11/17/15. Fishing atlas shows High fishing pressure. And if I remember correctly someone on this site said that it was like a local " fishing hole " that gets mostly fished by the local kids. Something of a kids pond if you will. Looks pretty small. Not sure how many fish get stocked. But a small body of water with a lot of pressure, I'll bet that place gets hammered as soon as the stocking truck is out of sight. All the easy ones have already been "invited home for dinner" . Chalk your little guy up to skill, cause he probably had to dodge 100 jars worth of powerbait till you got him.

...no that's not correct.

It gets hammered WHILE the stocking truck is still there.
