Boulder Res Ice Conditions?

Post By: Speezer      Posted: 2/4/2016 9:53:43 AM     Points: 630
Has anyone been out on Boulder Res lately? Wondering if there is still safe ice? Thinking about hitting it up before the game on Sunday. I will check today after work if I dont get any replies. Thanks

A lot of the lake have just refroze, as for safe ice. Im not too sure about that. there will be a lot of soft spots so play it safe.

Speezer,
The water level fluctuates a lot in Boulder Reservoir. Be mindful of that as there may be a gap between the ice and water. Stay safe!

How's it looking? I fished it a couple of evenings until after dark in early January, and only got one big perch. I think I've had a couple of walleye come in to check out my spoons, though. The lake is so structure less I haven't been able to find any killer spots yet. Then again, I went 4 years without catching a single walleye on the dam in spring until I finally fiqured out the pattern.

I ended up getting side tracked after work and couldnt make it to check the conditions. I am going to try and swing by saturday morning to see what it looks like. Thanks for the info, I plan on being extra cautious if I go out there.

Drove by Saturday morning and the lake pretty well frozen over, but with all the wind/warm weather Id be surprised if it lasted through the week
