Float tube heaven

Spent a long weekend here 7-24 thru 7-27, morning and evenings best for hitting the water in float tube. Caught numerous nice sized rainbows on spinners with ultralight tackle. Fly fishermen were having a ball at the inlet area from their tubes, heard one caught and released almost 100 in one day.

Nice campground, newly remodeled sites are level but some are pretty close to neighbors - some even share same parking slot. New tables and fire pits, fresh gravels in sites and one new his/hers toilet. Also now has well water with two faucets from solar paneled pump house.

Please practice bear food storage, tent campers were up all night blowing car horns and yelling at the bear on Sunday night....

In all, great place to spend a few days. Lots of kids having fun trying fly fishing from shore. Safe to leave float tube beached while in for lunch. No ATVs allowed in camp, yet dirt bikes are ok, seemed odd. Saturday was busy as could be expected. Some amazing sunsets!

Yeah O'Haver is a fun lake to tube on. We camp in a different area (free) and drive over to the lake to fish. The reason you can drive a motorcycle in camp is because it is a plated vehicle. We like going up there for single day fishing trips too, weekdays and late sundays are better. :)
