I'm headed up to the newly opened area this week for the first time. I've fished a few high lakes before, but this one is new. If there are any anglers out there that have already been, or if you have any tips/advice, please share :)

I think is the first season many of these lakes have been open... I'd use the same techniques you used on the other alpine lakes, dry/dropper, sight fish, change up if you're getting looks but no takes, lose the dropper if no one's taking it, should be a blast up there. Have fun!

Went Thursday 6/25. And it was AMAZING. The scenery was incredible, and the fishing was better. They were biting the whole time, and between 3 of us, we each netted at least 50 fish. We each were able to bring home a 15" fish. And I tell you what....that just might have been the best trout I have ever eaten...RED meat, high fat content.....WOW.

Looks and sounds nice! So it was worth the $15 permit?

SO worth the fee and the drive from the Springs.
Already booked as many reservations as I could for August.
Doesn't matter what you use...they bite on anything!
