I have never fished here before and I am going in a week or so and I would like to know so tactics for any kind of fish this time of year?

I haven't fished either of the lakes at Lathrop, but they are well stocked with trout, and have black bass, which would be my target. The difficult part in a new water is figuring out the structure and fish holding areas. After that, fish are fish everywhere you go, so you'll do well with tactics for those species that are working around the metro area at this time.

If I was hitting it, I'd be working rock, gravel, wood, where I could find it with streamers on a sinking line targeting bass. Small buggers would be my choice for the trout, and concentrate on the surface near shore.

From shore, fish the dam. From a boat just about anywhere. Saugeye and cat fish both grow large in this lake. Walleye fishing the other lake in the park is usually good. Between the two lakes you can target almost any species colorado offers. Wind is usually an issue.

Haven't been there in a few years but I have done well at horseshoe using flukes, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits for bass. The jetties along the dam are a good place to start. I have done best fishing the first and last jetties. Hope this helps a bit!
