Freshwater Mussel?

This is the largest freshwater mussel I have ever seen.

That is most like the floater mussel.
It is the largest native mussel in Colorado.
:)

I find them every now and then, with my largest live specimen about that size. The largest shell I've found is about 1.5 times that size, it was a big one.

Boyd Lake was full of those 40 years ago. When the water level was down a person just had to walk barefoot through the shallows and you could feel them in the mud.
