Has anyone fished Hine Lake recently? I drive by this small lake near the foothills almost everyday. Looks nice for a family outing with the kids. Play park, tennis courts and basketball courts all close by. Just curious about the lake itself. Is it worth stopping and drowning a worm or two?
It is an okay place to fish. Does get some stockers put in. So it can be a good place to take kids with the park right above the lake. It has a variety of other species in it but fishing can be hit or miss for many of those. Folks don't talk about it much to avoid adding undue pressure from trolls.
There are a few bows in there,the crawfish own that lake! Every time I've been there,there was little or no other fishermen,I did see two guys work the rocks from the bridge north . . .looked like a good way to break an ankle.
Way back in the day when all the roads around here were still gravel section roads we used to use fly rods and popping bugs to catch fish till our arms hurt! Last time I fished there 20 or so years ago I only caught a few little fish. I'd bet with all the pressure there today it's not worth your time.
