Any Luck Lately?

Post By: Cruz_nh      Posted: 10/6/2014 12:09:29 PM     Points: 15
I am planning on fishing this lake for walleye before it gets too cold and was curious if anybody had any pointers?

I have caught quite a few LMB here, but haven't had any walleye luck here but have heard they can be found.

Times, Colors, Lures, Locations are all welcome.
Thanks!

It would be a bit unusual to catch a walleye there, but one never knows. There are a couple of good walleye articles that are worth the read on the site.

I'd concentrate my efforts late in the day, and work minnow style lures/flies. By late, sunset to a couple hours afterwards.

Most importantly, I'd probably fish waters known to have good populations of walleye rather than Erie.

Fished the lake from 7pm-12am last night with about an hour break between 9 &10pm for a McDonald's Run.

I caught 3 LMB and 3 Walleye, all of which were before 9pm. All of them were less than 16" and were released.

Lures that caught fish were White twister tails with Glow in the Dark Jigheads, A clown and chrome crankbait and a large white minnow swimbait.

I did hear a few anglers say they had luck with catfish on just worms and my buddy ended up catching one really nice Bass around 21" or so (also released)

Overall it was still a beautiful night for fishing. Comfortable temperature, Calm waters, Full moon, multiple fish, etc.

Good to hear there's still some fish in there. I may have to swing by there next time I'm in the area. Well done.
