Picnic Surprise !

Whilst I wait for my busted main computer at home to be fixed I have been digging through what film footage I can to see what could be extracted. Doing this on a real old antique laptop, so have to almost step frame by frame ... insanity, or dedication, I am not sure which !

So, whilst on a trip early September with my wife, and the carp dog Raven, in southern Colorado, we stopped at a quiet lake for a picnic. It would have been wrong not to cast a couple of lines out to see what lurked beneath.

Imagine my surprise when this nice slender grass carp, just over 10#, took the bait and was soon on the bank and in my gentle clutches ! Had another one, perhaps a pound or so heavier, soon afterwards. It never fails, trip with wife, picnic, carp invasion soon to follow !

You just never know what lies beneath the surface, unless you get a line in there - so, cast away and wait for the bites to come !

Real nice John! That's kinda what I was getting at in my post with the bass from the bass3acre lake.. I swear...I would fish in the storm sewer in front of my house if I thought I would catch one. The first step to catching is trying. The first"off limits" lake a block away from me has carp I can see that are all 8#or much more. The lake drains thru a creek that is not private...I'm wondering....
