San Juan Cutts n Color

Post By: Digginjiggin      Posted: 9/27/2014 8:01:11 PM     Points: 289
My wife Becky and I hiked into a favorite San Juan little lake near Ridgway. The colors were good but still a week early. Fishing at the lake was decent with 4 nice Cutts to net and lost two nice ones. Black woollybuggers and smoke/purple flake jigs got the job done. Gorgeous day, lots of people out looking. Did lunch at True Grit in Ridgway with a half pound buffalo burger with a 2rascals brewery Irish Red. Great old John Wayne haunt from when he filmed the movie there. Great day all around!

oh yeah buddy.. Ridgeway,

Gateway to Dallas Divide and beyond, hang tight, them colors are full bore heading your way. Yampa was so lit up last weekend.
If I ever get my a$$ down that way again, maybe I can bribe you into guided tour to that juicy looking pond.
We were pounding trout on grasshoppers, spiders, beetles and ants on long rod

Sorry to say the brookies there are no more. When I caught n released the last one four years ago there were only a couple left. Have only seen cutts there every since. They probably ate the last eggs in the inlet.
