Boyd Ponds SWA closes Aug. 29

BRUSH, Colo. -- The Boyd Ponds State Wildlife Area (SWA) will close permanently Aug. 29. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has sold the property to a private entity.

Boyd Ponds, a 176-acre wildlife area, has been available as a day-use hunting and angling site for many years. However, due to continued development in the area, it has outlived its designation as wildlife habitat providing recreation opportunity.

The property will close to all public access, including hunting and angling, as it reverts to private property. All private property laws regarding trespass and access will apply. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will no longer control this property.

Please assist CPW and the new landowner in spreading the word throughout the hunting and angling community. For questions please call the Brush service center at 970-842-6300.

Hunters looking for a new location are encouraged to check out nearby Jean K. Tool, Brush or Centennial SWA.

I would like some clarification here. I think it's labeled incorrectly here on FxR.

There is a Brush SWA and a Boyd Lakes SWA. Boyd Lakes SWA is shutting down, not Brush SWA. I have no idea where the name Chartiers Pond came from. I am assuming Chartiers Pond is part of Boyd Lakes SWA NOT Brush SWA.

Correct?

I guess that's my fault. Sorry. Don't know why its under chartiars though. Guess his fault. I thought chartiars was in brush swa.

It is Boyd Ponds SWA that is closing. Not Brush SWA or Brush Prairie Ponds SWA. This was the closest listing on FxR I could find.
