I spent the morning fishing on the very foggy back lake with no luck. As I was leaving I decided to toss it in a few times on the front lake. After a couple of casts I tried again and sort of miscast into an area between two trees. The spinnerbait was hit almost immediately. It caught me totally by surprise. I started reeling in and the fish made a b-line for and got caught in a submerged branch. Dang! I could see that it was a decent fish and try as I might I couldn't get him free. I didn't want the fish to die tangled up in my line and the branch. I was about to cut my line but then I noticed a guy in a belly boat across the lake. I decided to walk around the lake and ask him if he could make his way over to save the fish. He obliged and a few minutes later he was there and freed the fish and retrieved my lure. The fish turned out to be nice! He asked me if I wanted to hold the fish but I said no but asked if I could get a pic of him with the fish. Thank you kind sir! What an awesome morning and I didn't get skunked.
