i just had 2 friends move into the neighborhood around this lake and we are going to try to fish it sometime this week but none of us have ever fished there. I saw the update from earlier this month saying they caught some trout...but they aren't really what we will be looking for. How does the lake fish for other species, bass, gills, crappie or cats? can i take my tube or canoe out on it?
I'm assuming it will be much like the ponds i fish a little farther south but i would appreciate any info you can give! thanks!
I live in the neighborhood and have fished it a fair amount. Lots of pumpkinseed and carp. Not much else likes to cooperate. I have caught smallmouth and largemouth out of there, but not regularly and nothing of size. Most of the decent structure is along the dam, expect lots of snags. Great lake to let the dog swim in, but much better fishing within the area than this little lake. Don't want to deter you from trying but I have lived in the neighborhood for quite a while and tried many times, maybe you will have better luck than me.

cool thanks for the info guys. pumpkinseeds would be good for their kids to start out fishing for, expecially since its within walking distance for them. i think we are going to go later this week, i'll let you know how we did.

I also live in the area and have fished ketner a couple times. I have only caught carp and two mini (5 inch) bass there. doughballs and worms seem to work pretty good for the carp. I have also waded it in the spring with my flyrod and fished all the reeds on thenorth end but didn't get anything.
