Suckers in Bonham

Does Bonham reservoir have a lot of suckers? I have heard that trout fishing isn't that good because of them.

There are some large browns hanging out in Bonham.

I would look at throwing jerk baits in hot pink or chartreuse. Greyling should be stack up at the inlet.

Don't worry, I'll be after the grayling and trout too, but I use suckers for bait, and was wondering if there is a lot in there.

There are plenty of suckers. Look at Eggelston and Island as well. Make sure they are white suckers [log in for link]
as they are non native and other suckers are protected. White have larger scales. The other sucker that might be present is the longnose [log in for link]
Upon further reading it appears to be non native as well and they crossbreed with white suckers, so you should be safe harvesting any sucker you find.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. Hopefully I can make it up tomorrow, and may bounce around to a few lakes, so I'll let you know what happens when I can get up there.
