Got her to hold one

Brought my daughter out today for a few hours to catch some fish at the kids pond. We had a blast and caught three, shoulda had twelve but couldn't get a hook set on em haha. Last few times I brought her out, she has been afraid to hole or even touch any fish or bait... But today was different. She actually held all three of the fish she caught (even though they would flip out of her hand and she would scream like crazy). I was proud when she laughed and didn't hesitate to pick it back up. After she realized they were "nice" in her words she got brave with some worms. It turned into me watching her bobber the entire time while she kept spilling the worms just to put em all back. This is what it is all about!

Yea Dad!!! She'll be a fishing buddy for years.

I've posted this pic before but my daughter grew up fishing with her dad, uncle, grandpa, brothers, and cousins. Gotta admit she is not doing much fishing right now (more into boys and volleyball at this point) but I have no doubt we will still be fishng together years from now...

Nothing better imo than taking a kid fishing. My earliest memories are of my dad taking me fishing. Both of my daughters 14 yr and three have taught me old men never die they just live on thru the fishing stories

Enjoy it while it lasts. My daughter was crazy about fishing and even kissed her first bass. Last year (when she turned 7) she "learned" that it is for boys. Now she doesn't want anything to do with it. My son (4) is even more addicted then I am. He would be at the pond 24 / 7 if he could.

I can't wait until she comes back to fishing. As hard as it is I am trying not to push her. After all in the program of one of her first plays she said she wanted to be a fisher woman when she grew up.
