thought I hooked a log..........

Was fishing for trout. Using 1/4 oz silver kastmaster, this is what I caught..1 12 inch trout, and a 31.25 inch, 14.10 lb common grass carp, was weighed and measured then released.

Actually you're holding a common carp, not a grass carp. From the pics, probably a nice torpedo shaped slender male - a fishy log for sure!

Either way it's a fine carp capture and a nice release - congrats !

If you had a witness you could get yourself a MA for your efforts ..

That's a nice fish you have there! Kudos on the release. I bet that was a fun fight. There's nothing better than carp fishing! My new fly reel is well broken-in because of these fish. Have a fruitful day!
