Fishing advice?

Post By: PerchMan719      Posted: 4/21/2014 11:16:51 PM     Points: 275
Hi there, I am heaed down to lathrop State park this upcoming weekend. I have never been there and was up for a new fishing adventure. Are there any pointers you guys are willing to give me? I am up for catching any species, but my dream is one of the tiger muskies I keep seeing pictures of. Thank you, tight lines

You can find a Better tiger musky lake closer to pueblo and the springs. As far as lathrop, the wind can be bad. Try to fish the weed edges for descent pike, the rocks for walleye, catfish are all over. This is at Martin. For horseshoe toss senkos retrieved slow for bass. Little early for sauger but you might find them around the dam. Abundant stocker trout in both. The guys at colorado tackle pro are some knowledgeable fellas. They can help you too.

I have been working in upstate ny so I have not been out this year to lathrop. This is just a general idea to get you started. I do know for a fact the pike bite is hot so the water temps must be in the 50's. If you go it would be greatly appreciated if you post a report with water temps. I am giving max points for any decent to good fishing reports. They are far and few between. Send me a msg via the skipper link and I will recommend a stop on your drivedrive to check out.

Where would a better muskie or pike lake be? I still am searching for a good lake for the family to go have some fun on.
