Are there any recent reports on activity on Yamcolo? Is the road into the area open and drivable w/o 4WD? Thanks.

We haven't gotten a report for Yamcolo since July last year. The USFS page says the boat ramp is "temporarily unavailable" [log in for link] , but I'm not sure how current that info is either. You could give them a call 307-745-2300. If you do, be sure to let us know what's up.

i know that there is a small campground by Yamcolo, how quickly does it fill up? and can you set up camp by some of the other smaller lakes in the area?

Stopped at Pennys dinner today an they said it's still iced up.

Heard you can only get about 5 miles up in 2wd. Still muddy
