Fish: Striped Bass

Record Striper Info?

Post By: Russian      Posted: 3/21/2014 1:52:13 PM     Points: 1030
Hi all
I copied this pic a few years back but can't remember where I saved the article. Does anyone recall where and when this was caught? The only thing I remember about this fish was the gentlemen stating his wife was tired of him hanging out at the house everyday so she told him to get out and go fishing. This pic was the result of his outing that wonderful day! Just goes to show that every now and then listening to your wife can be a wise thing!!! If memory serves me correctly it was close to 70 lbs.
Any input would be appreciated.

No way that's real, that OG is holding that fish up way to easy haha

If you look carefully, there's a blue rope heading upwards from the fishes mouth - perhaps it's hanging from a tree, or a crane, winch? Otherwise, that OG has been eating his wheaties to lift that hog of a striper up so easy!

You are correct John
That blue rope is probably tied to a tree!
The guy is definitely not holding that beast by himself. If so he would be struggling and sweating profusely.

Sorry, but I gotta call BS on the picture. Story seems real but that picture has got to be doctored. Otherwise that guy only weighs about 60lbs!

Sorry MichaelP, pictures real. Look at record stripers in Alabama - guy by the same name and the weight was in excess of 69 pounds.
