Open Water?

Post By: Bwallace10327      Posted: 2/13/2014 1:29:38 PM     Points: 204
I was hoping someone from the Cortez area could let me know if there is open water sufficient to fling some big streamers in hopes to get into some early season northerns and take advantage of this sham of a winter. I'm hoping to head that direction this weekend. Thanks for any info.

Based on how thin the ice was and how much open water there was when I checked it out in January I'd be willing to bet there is more open water now. It's been 6 weeks since I was there, but with the temps we have seen in this area I am sure you can find some bank fishing.

B Wallace if your still looking for some open water Narraguinep has a bunch, was out there last Sunday. Hiked the Jon boat out there and didn't catch diddly squat. Wish I woulda seen this sooner, did you get out to totten?

Totten is 100% open right now. Might be able to get into some pike.
