Lost Ice Fishing Gear

Post By: johnski      Posted: 1/30/2014 3:36:12 PM     Points: 5479
I read this in our local want ads today and it broke my heart to think of it. Please be on the lookout for this kind of gear for sale.

"Lost between Del Norte and Monte Vista approximately by Manzanarez lane. Gas powered Ice Auger, fishing poles, and black ice fishing sled. A green pickup, possibly Chevy with two gentlemen was seen picking it up before noon. Please if anyone has information or if you are the party who retrieved the items call Kim Gonzalez, 580-8189. This was a Christmas present for my husband and son. We gladly will offer a reward for the items safe return. Thank you."

Thanks for posting this, I hope they're able to get their gear back. And at least by having this up, it prevents the possible culprits from trying to sell it on here.

I just spoke with Kim, and she said no new news as of today. She remains hopeful. Let's all keep our eyes open and hope that the goodness of people prevails and returns the stuff to the rightful owner.

I am still troubled by this. Whenever something like this happens, it damages ones faith in the goodness of people. Does anyone have any ideas on whether a collection or something similar could be done to raise $$$ for these persons. Any ideas would be appreciated. I know this website is a collection of people passionate about fishing and may have some ideas. Thanks....

That sucks, maybe someone has some stuff to help her out, although gas augers can be pricey.

that truly is a bummer. you would have hoped that whoever found it would have tried to get all of that expensive gear back to the rightful owner.

I hope they find their stuff. I always wonder how people lose stuff like that. Did it come unstrapped or something?

On my way home this past weekend I saw a one man flip over on the side of the road. Just as was about to pull over I spotted a young guy parked and walking back to it. I saw the gas auger in the pick up assume he put the shelter in on top and it blew out. Looked like it was fine tho.

The lady said the tailgate fell open and the sled and gear slid out. If you're headed down the highway doing 65 in a truck with big noisy tires, I suppose one could easily miss it falling out. Good work "Go" in keeping an eye out.
