Lake: Huston Park Lake

Frozen... solid as a rock

Its probably been rehashed over and over, but doesn't DPR's approach to ice seem pretty close-minded? I knocked a couple holes into Huston near the east rock wall and the ice was an estimated 6" thick.

Why can't there be lake-specific regulations on ice rather than a blanket "no-ice" policy? Some lakes would be great for ice fishing, others would not.

As I said, I am sure this has been talked.about before, I'm just venting.

DPR does a great job on the majority of urban fisheries, but it sure would be have some icing options other than the state Parks you have to pay to fish..

**Venting over. :)

don't know how frequently you use state parks.. but the parks pass for me more than paid for itself this past year.

Honestly, in the last year, I have fished state parks a total of one time.

$9.00 for a day pass "just ain't worth it."

I need to buy a year Parks pass, but still... spending that kind of cash... just seems a bit nutty after buying my fishing license.

I know the fees are necessary, but I just can't ever convince myself to spend it.
