Saturday and a couple hours of free time so went to one of my favorite creeks to beat water with a fly. The brown were on fire!! In an hour and a half I caught two at 15", one at 13" several 10-12" and a basket full of 6-8" The cool part about all that variety is that there's a breeding population in that creek. And they all stayed there in teh creek.
While hiking out I caught this little Creek Chub, first ever! He was so red coming out of the water I thought I had a Brookie at first.
Went yesterday to the same spot and brought a couple and hooked into an epic fighter that broke the hook after a short but powerful fight, it was a little hook but still I've never had that happen! I want to meet this fish!!
Tiny little nymphs (24) and larger (20) stonefly nymphs with bead heads seemed to fire them up.
