I have a couple times just to kill time but haven't got one bite fishing there.. see plenty of fish jumping all over but just nothing biting.. Hardest part about the lake is you are only allowed to fish the pier they put in and the rest is fenced off only limiting you to about 1/4 of the lake.

Hey little d the Brighton city park lake is actually the lake by the rec center. I do agree tho its a shame that other lake is so restrictive

I have fished the Brighton Rec center ponds and it is not half bad, I talked to a guy out there who said he saw some kids pulling out Crappie and swears they pulled out a 5 1/2lber. If that is true that was easily a state record. I have caught Crappie and Bass there but they are very small ones

Oh well for as far as the rec center pond then yeah its pretty fun to fish sometimes! If you use corn on a hook you can get into some pretty nice carp!

Its a great place for kids. My then 4 year old caught a carp almost as long as he is tall lol. I'd be amazed if there is any crappy of any decent size. I've actually caught a bass on corn trying for carp.
