Ice-out?

Post By: StillwaterFishCatcher      Posted: 4/4/2013 9:09:10 PM     Points: 110
I'm hoping to get out soon after ice-out this year. Should it be about the middle of this month?

I would expect it to be ice free by the middle to end of this month. Make sure you check with cpw before you go they closed the gate middle of last month and the only access was by snowmobile/ATV/hike.

Sorry for the late reply. Caught a lot of big brookies. Mostly 10-16", but one was 19". I caught some rainbows, cutthroats, and kokanee too. Now is the time to go out. The fish are eating scuds. The setup that worked really well was an olive wooly bugger above a #12 scud. Lots of people fishing bait and spinners with not a lot of luck. They're really aggressive and are hitting the fly when it stops or moves fast.
