I was thinking of trying Erie Lake for bows after work Sat. morning. Anyone have info about it or Thomas Res? If either are no good I'll try TGP again. Planning on powerbait, worms, or standard trout lures. Any info is appreciated.
Sure - there are bows in both most of the year, but check the state's stocking info to see if it was recent. Powerbait or the power eggs always worked fine for me, and if you toss a gulp minnow on a jighead, you might get some bass action on the side. Also, the bluegills on Thomas are thick, and somewhat stunted. They respond VERY well to small flies near the surface. Keep and eat a few and do the place a favor. They taste just fine and need thinning (NW corner).
Best of luck. ANd feel free to contact me sometime about heading there. I live in Erie... I'm out of town this weekend though.

Tbubb, I will be heading out to Erie Lake soon. I want to see how things go to take my 3 1/2 year old out for his first trip. Any suggestions as of late? If you want to meet up that would be great. I am in Erie as well.

vbgooroo, Sorry I didn't see your post until just now. I took some vacation and wasn't on the site, and this was such an old thread I didn't see it until I checked my FxR+ page that tracked my threads. How did your day go? Did you and the kid hook up some fish?
