Decided to take a trip down the road to the river near my house. After scoping out a few spots on the mostly ice capped river I got the gear out and tried the first. After 7 or 8 casts I decided to switch fly's and work my way down stream. I found a nice hole and began to throw my fly in its direction. I'm not very good with a fly rod yet so it took me a bit to hit the spot I was aiming for. Finally I started hitting the hole yet still nothing tugging at the line. Once I thought I had a strike and when I went to throw my line back up stream.... snap goes the fly rod right in the middle?? This was going to be my second season with that rod. Since the fly rod was no longer intact I got the spinning rod out of the pack... hooked up an old gold and black rooster tail and threw it in... first cast snagged up on a rock... ended up breaking off. So I threw on a similar colored kast master and threw it out. First cast nothing, second cast fish on!! Apparently my drag was a little loose and the fish took off towards the ice cap I tried to get him stopped but it was too late sliced my line like a hot knife through butter. Tried a few other rigs with no action, busted my ass on the way out.. soaked me up past my waist... freezing cold water! I think I'll finish out the ice fishing season before I go back there.

I was hoping it would get some laughs.... I know all about the good days and bad days lol... pikenco- thats exactly true. I still had more fun falling on my butt and losing some lures and breaking a rod then I would have working. Good luck out there today firefish, lemme know how you do.
