Boulder Creek is now on Fish Explorer!

Boulder Creek has been added to the Fish Explorer database. I look forward to reading your reports on this great little fishery!

For now, we have two sections listed:
Boulder Creek from Fourmile Creek to Highway 36, and from North Boulder Creek (Boulder Falls) to Fourmile Creek.
In the next few weeks we will have a few more sections listed, including South Boulder Creek.

Spring is coming, and the Boulder Creek Browns get very eager to eat a variety of offerings.

Cheers for now,
Your new river skipper,

Great fishery? Understatement. I've been fishing it for over 8 years, you wouldn't believe what lurks in there. Just don't fish the kids pond or the viewing pond, accidentally was fishing the kids pond one time from the backside. Had parents going nuts literally chasing me off then the cops showed up. There were no signs from where I came from, talk about an ambush. I don't stop there anymore, to this day I still haven't seen anyone catch a fish in the kids ponds. Always a great day up there though. Remember it's posted along the trail that its gold medal water so don't do anything stupid.

This creek hates me. Only thing I've ever caught out that creek is crap from the local hippies.

never really had those problems... All the hippies moved to Nederland, its mostly yuppies at this point.

Three most asked questions fishing downtown (usually asked by tourists):
1. Are there actually fish in there? What kind?
2.. Are you doing catch and release?
3. Can my kid see your fish?

Its pretty cool to show a 5 year old how to hold a nice brown (ie support the body and keep it wet), and to let them release it. They always grin ear to ear seeing it swim away.

You're right, the questions you get are hilarious. I was walking past the farmers market one day and this older group of people asked me if I was really fishing in the creek. First thing I thought was "no I just like to carry my pole around" I just smiled said yes and kept walking. People don't think there's anything in a little creek like that. Lets keep it that way, then I can have it all.

It's posted for most of the trail that its gold medal water, the boulder police patrol the whole creek all the time. If you see someone leaving with a fish for some stupid reason call boulder police and they will be there quick. The most fun is the drunken bum conversations.

This is probably the best location for people watching while fishing I have ever found.
