Lake: Eleven Mile Reservoir

Noble Effort

I went up on the 29th for a couple of hours and though the weather was great the water was pretty low. The report from the park (which was confirmed by a few fellow fish fiends who witnessed the end of a morning masacre only to get scunked themselves) that snagging for Kokanee is good in several locations. My philosophy on snagging is if they are yanking 'em out of the water faster they know what to do with 'em join in, but no such luck. Tried fishing for Pike and never even got a nibble. Then broke my rod when I got it stuck over at sucker cove (apperently an appropriate name). Of course I would be more than happy to do it all again. I think you need a boat out there this time of year. (Or at least that is what I am telling myself)

Sorry about the rod - hopefully its under an unconditional guarantee...where'd you look for the pike?

I was looking for the pike at the end of the marina parking lot off of the rocks. We knocked them dead there labor day weekend, but it was a bit more shallow now and I could see the bottom about 15yards out and I never even got a follow. I have a friend who has been fishing that lake for years and he assures me that spot and the island right across from there are the best pike spots on the lake. Labor day was the first time I ever fished that lake, but I will be going back.
