There are some Bass in Highline, nothing of real size though. From what I've been told the dow stocks 10" bass and that's all I seem to catch there. Now if you really want to get into some Bass around the Grand Junction area I suggest you look into fishing Jerry Creek Reservoirs. You can look it up on the Lake map this website has.
Mack Mesa right next to Highline also has a decent small bass population, along with Corn lake. Corn lake probably has the best bass fishing inside the valley bar Jerry Creek.

If your looking for bass near GJ definitely try out connected lakes also, not as good as Mack Mesa or Highline probably but its right there just behind the Broadway Albertsons and perfect for a few casts after work. Personally i've never really seen any largemouth out of corn (then again we were usually targeting trout)

I think the upper Jerry Creek reservoir is the best bet for big bass. Keep in mind that the regulations at this reservoir require that all fish be released.
