Lake: Runyon-Fountain Lakes SWA

Great Active Fishing at Runyon today!

Post By: willsanddeals      Posted: 5/4/2012 3:28:48 PM     Points: 31
I went to Runyon Lake at 6am this morning and fished until around 1pm. I personally caught 19 trout (ALL C&R) and was super fun and very active(only in certain areas). Most were in the 10-12inch size but the largest one I caught was 16inches. I fished with a very cool guy that caught a 12lb 27inch sucker that was fun to watch him battle and finesse him to shore. Then he released him in the small pond for those that are familiar with that area. He also caught a bunch of trout(27 i think) and only kept his 4 but the biggest one he had got loose so he left with 3.

A younger kid that was there with his grandpa had never fished there before so I let him shore a trout after I hooked it. He was super excited and happy! Then 20 mintues later he caught his own fish and ended up being around 19 inch Walleye. So today was action packed, very active, and just plain fun fishing! The interaction with people and other fisherman/woman is a big part of what I enjoy. Here are just a few pics of some trout I caught.

I made a conditions report out of your post. Please consider submitting them in the future using the lake update button above. We maintain a history of conditions reports. Far easier to research the history that way.

Thanks

I always thought of a carp and a sucker as the same thing. Shows all my wealth of knowledge right? lol. Im sure it was a carp then. I have the picture of it but it's of the guy who caught it and I sent it to him cause hes a member on here too I guess and wanted to post it under his.
