I will be in the denver area on sunday and am looking to targer suckers any good reccomendations area? bait? location?, am not to familiar with denver area but hear that chatfield has a large population. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any info anyone can help with.
thanks will give it a shot looking at the map I am guessing that you are talking about the over flow on the back side of the dam and between south platte res and chatfield or were you talking about the other end of the lake?

I think he is talking about the ponds at the dog off leash area. they do have suckers in there and some good size. Not to sure how many are left after someone put gill nets in there killing off about 200 this summer. But the over flow at the bottom of the spill way is off limits and you can get a piece of paper that will cost you money if you do fish that one. But the dog ponds are the two on the north side of the dam

No, I mean the river, from the spillway all the way to Greeley.
Where are you? There are suckers all over the state, there is no need to travel anywhere special just to get a hold of some. Just about all the ponds in the metro area have them and the majority of mountain lakes, reservoirs, and rivers have them too.
