nope
Predatory fish look in the water if you see crayfish good bet. Minnow imitations white or dark colors always the best. tubes always produce.
jerkbaits if the fish are slow.
And you can always use a jig and a crawler very affective, slip rigs all good at times.
Ive managed a few saugeye on my flyrod. White and red streamer when the shad are dyeing off.

I tried this, it worked for me. It is a slight variation on the drop shot rig done for bass.

Tie two bait hooks with Palomar knots on your line 12inches apart leaving a 12inch gap between your last hook and the end of the line. At the end of they line tie a egg sinker. So when you are done it should look like a sinker on the bottom, 12" line, hook, 12'' line then last hook. Put a crawler on each one with about a 2 inch tail hanging off. Toss it out there and bring it in slowly giving it some twitches.. good luck
