Fish ID?

Post By: alwayzskunkd      Posted: 7/26/2011 6:11:33 PM     Points: 1576
A friend of mine was out th Pueblo res a while back doing some bow fishing and he got this fish. Said when he spotted it and shot it he thought it was a carp. He said the fish was about 18 inches and 4 -4.5 pounds. After looking online I come to the conclusion that this fish is a Rudd. Am I correct? I have never heard of a rudd.

What does anyone know of these fish?

Nasty stinky critters, we caught 30 of those with jerk baits early this spring.

Yeah man you aint missing

Some of these guys use them for catfishing.

Cherry Creek is full of them, they grow some big walleye/wiper.

Early this spring they were stacked thick, aggressive, and hitting 6" Bombers ferociously! ha

When I used to need some good catfish bait I would sight fish shad with just a single piece of corn and no weights. Just throw it out there and they will hit it like a perch. Just a heads up though, they have super sharp scales on their stomachs so be careful. Great bait!
