Fish: Creek Chub

1st Fish of the Year

Post By: basspikefisher      Posted: 7/15/2011 11:07:37 PM     Points: 37
I went fishing today in an attempt to catch my 1st fish this year. I was fishing at a small private mountain pond and only had 10 minutes. I was able to catch 2 creek chub. I know that the pond also has brown trout and rainbow trout and I will try to catch them when I go back tomorrow.

That's a pretty cool fish. I could spend all day catching those little buggers. They can be used as bait too right?

Congrats on the first fish of the year. I've never caught a creek chub, but a fish is a fish!

My first fish of the Year was way back in January, through the ice at the Blue Mesa.. Why did you wait so long to go fishing?

First fish should always be in January, that is the first month of the year.

Well, I don't have any ice fishing equiptment. So I can't really catch many fish in the winter. I haven't caught any this spring or summer because the pond I fish at that usually has good panfish, bass, and catfish has been really slow and is being over run with carp. I think I will be able to catch more fish there soon though.
