Fish: Sunfish (Bream)

Awesome sunfish spot

Post By: agt      Posted: 2/21/2011 11:28:59 AM     Points: 70
I own property on a private pond and it has the best sunfish ever.(I can't tell you where it is since it's private) I've caught some maybe 8" and 2 pounders in that lake. I also catch bass too, but mostly sunfish. You probably don't believe this, but there are 4 ft. long grass carp

The only notable thing about this post is the species designation. "Sunfish (bream)". The only place where they call sunfish bream is the South. FXR expansion is coming soon.

This kind of sounds like some public places I know called Lake X, The Ponds $$$, and Lake Canttellyaboutit.

I think that people who post stories about fish from private lakes should not post on the site. That's great that you catch good fish, but it just isn't relative to what the spirit of this site is about. Really, what are we all supposed to get out of your post? I had a friend take me to a private lake once and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. In 2 hours I caught 10 of the biggest bass I'll ever catch in CO. Big deal. If it's that easy, it's really nothing to brag about. Let people know about public impoundments, or maybe way out-of-the-way lakes that don't get fished much. In my opinion, fishing on private lakes actually deadens your skills because it's too easy. Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone, but, really if you're offended, you're probably too sensitive anyhow.

Well thanks for telling us about your ponds but why are you telling us. Are you taking guided trips out their for a small fee or just bragging. Eitheri way their is alot of us that dont care unless we can fish it.
