Having made several yearly fishing trips to "Eleven Mile" I can offer what has worked best for me using power-bait and how it is rigged and fished from shore. Use a heavy "egg sinker" (ounce and a half) as you want your line to slide through the weight so the fish will not feel any resistance when they bite. Put a red 4mm bead on the line after the weight and then tie on a snap swivel. Having used many lengths of leaders for the bait I have found using long leaders of at least 3 feet work the best! With a 3 foot leader your "power bait" will float freely above the weeds off the bottom. I like the heavy weight for distance in casting and keeping your bait from moving too much with the wind and current. Use ten pound XT fishing line and ten pound "Vanish" for your leaders. Happy fishing and "go get em"!
