11 Mile put me in my place on Tuesday

Post By: BCIII      Posted: 9/23/2010 1:58:27 PM     Points: 5019
So all year I have done really well at 11 Mile and finally I think god put me in my place on Tuesday. It was my birthday so I took the day off of work hoping to celebrate so large fish..... 2 Fish all day. Nothing to brag about either. Both caught on Rainbow Xrap. I believe that a recent scud "fresh water shrimp" hatch has just occured because every time I pulled up anchor my back deck was loaded wtih those little bastards. All over the place. The Lake is turning over big time and many weeds can be found floating top water causing water clarity to really be an issue. Very cloudiy right now especially by Stoll Mt on West towards the inlet. I did confirm with the Rangers that 11Mile, Spinney, Antero will all be closed October 31st to boating for the season. That sucks big time.

So now we sit and wait for ice...... and wait...... and wait...... Ill probably join the barage of fly fisherman as the rainbows pull closer to the shore before ice on. That form of military fishing is always fun. Hope y'all are doin well.

Good job Bobby! Wait a minute, you caught them on an Xrap? I see, there lies your problem, you did not use lime twist. Lol.........

Obsessed...... For sure man.... Ice season.... Come out with us during ice season... its a blast..... As long we beat out Recon and Bass Trout to the honey holes, we are ok.... Recon gets up rather early though.

BassTrout..... God knows I tried...... I went evengoing to go as far as taking a Dynamic lure and slapping 5 lbs of lime twist on the treble hooks..... NOTHIN!!!!! I was trying to use the xrap for Pike but the cut bows came instead. Should have taken a picture of the shrimp..... That was quite a site to see..... Hundreds it seemed like.

THere is a bounty on Grey Beard..... He will be caught.... Just so everybody is aware.... at least a 6 lb cutbow in Stoll Mt.... none of this oh we caught him at suckers cove.... Grey beard is lurking in Stoll Mt and is loyal to that hole. Fat bastard is a pike I believe.... Bullyhunter would know that one for sure... Not to sure where he lurks but I thought it was the same place as "THE BEARD" hangs out.... together they sound like a bunch of circus freaks if you ask me.

BassTrout..... That is funny..... One thing I will miss from that parking spot is having to compete with the Burrows for the best parking spot.

Alwayzskunked, I will ask him for your pole back when I get him. I also have to retrieve Basstrouts cell phone, my pocket knife, and my dads bottle of milk!

Happy Birthday BCIII. Ever since I met you back in January at 11 mile I've had to listen to my son say, "Daddy, that's NOT how BCIII does it!"

May all the (what is another word for burros) stay on shore.

The Ode to Grey Beard

Ohhhh thy dearest Beard
How we miss you so much
As ice comes on pouring on
I look forward to just one touch
You cruise to the left
You cruise to the right
Your ass is so big
You put fright in the pike
As winter lays upon us
I look forward until we meet
My tube jig will be waiting for you
and I look forward to a GOOD EAT!!!!

Ahhhhhh the griz I should have known! Now it all makes sense. You know I really should have figured after all the trouble last year. Plus the hot water boat sabotage that ruined our perfect after work trek to the mile hahaha! Bring on the pronghorn then the elk and then hard water!
