Chatfield

Was out on Chatfield yesterday 4-15-07 from about 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a buddy of mine getting his boat wet for the first time this year. Water temps about 54 to 55 degrees along the dam. Water clarity is fair but has improved since the last time I was out about 2 weeks ago. Fairly windy which made fishing good. Caught 5 walleyes between 17" and 18" and 1 rainbow. Fish were very shallow 3' to 5' along the rip rap. 4 walleyes were caught on a 4" Power Grub on an 1/8 oz. jig (Green) just with a slow steady retrieve keeping on or just off the bottom. I threw X-Raps for a while, but only caught 1 eye on a white color. Lots of boat traffic (Expected) but not too bad for a couple hours of fishing.

Now that a good report.
Thank you sir. Out fishing down here in parker behind the house. Caught about half a dozen rainbows nothing big though. 3 pounds about biggest tonight. Took about 30 min. on fly rod with wooley bugger with a small beadhead below. Have a great day. Lee

Excellent post! That bait/retrieve/pattern will work at The 'Tooth right now, too. CL
