Durango/Pagosa Springs Area Please Help!

Post By: psarda1      Posted: 6/18/2010 9:56:33 PM     Points: 2
Hello. I'm new to the area and have some family meeting me in Pagosa Springs for a few days before heading to Durango. I was hoping to take in as much fishing as possible and hoping for some reccomendations. I'm staying on the San Juan (which I read is pretty muddy) in Pagosa, but willing to drive to find some fish and some beautiful spots. Any suggestions would be appreciated (fly fishing or spinning) Thanks!

Peter

Echo is a nice little lake and has some nice bass in it.

When my wife and I visit her family in Pagosa, I usually stop at Let It Fly. Pops is very helpful and he can point you to where there are some good waters. There are some lunkers at Hatcher lake. Stop at Pagosa Lake Ranch and get a day pass for a couple bucks (fly/lures only, C&R preferred). Echo lake was mentioned as well. If you're in for a road trip, shoot down to Navajo Reservoir. The rivers will be blown out now, so maybe try Turkey creek for moving waters. Good luck.
