The Denver Fly Fishing Section is part of the non-profit Colorado Mountain Club, the state's largest outdoor recreation group. The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) offers a wide variety of alpine pursuits. There are activities for entertainment, education, and community involvement. From local nature walks to international climbing expeditions, we do it all. Statewide, the CMC sponsors some 3,000 activities annually. We are headquartered in Golden.
The Denver Fly Fishing Section meets once a month (March-October) on the third Thursday (7 pm) at The American Mountaineering Center (710 10th Street, Golden). Our meetings are free and open to all. Speakers on such topics as nymphing, casting and entomology share their expertise. In addition, we offer Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Schools plus seminars and clinics.
Denver Fly Fishing Section leaders conduct fishing trips throughout the Rockies. While most members prefer established streams, some eagerly pursue backcountry lakes and rivers. We hike, climb and backpack to uncrowded, special places. For more on Colorado wilderness fly fishing, visit our website.
