Colorado Parks and Wildlife and its great Evergreen partners are hosting the annual Evergreen Outdoor Skills Day on Sunday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free event provides residents and visitors a day of outdoor recreation, education and fun. Participants can try activities such as fishing, shooting sports, learning about hunter education, macro-invertebrates, Colorado wildlife and much more. No experience is necessary, and no equipment is needed. It all will be provided, along with grilled lunch and a fishing pole for kids to take home, while supplies last.
"This is a unique way for kids and families to learn how to fish, learn about sport shooting and other activities in the great outdoors,” said Wildlife Officer Joe Nicholson.
Held at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center, attendees will be paired with seasoned instructors and experts in the various skills and have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
