EVENT:Earth Day Fishing Line and Shore Cleanup
DATE:4/19/2019 9:00 am
DETAILS:Friday, April 19: 4/19/2019 : 9:00 AM - 4/22/2019 : 12:00 PM

Meet us at 9am in the Visitor Center parking lot Friday-Monday (pick one day, multiple days, or all!). Volunteers will help with shoreline clean up at Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain State Parks as part of an Earth Day initiative. As one of the top fishing destinations in Colorado, our two parks see more than their fair share of mircotrash and angling pollution. While most of our anglers are ethical and responsible, it can still be a struggle to make sure fishing lines, used bait, and packaging materials are properly and safely disposed of. This will be the first efforts to collect microtrash in an effort to achieve our Leave No Trace goals.

Did you know monofilament fishing line takes 600 years to degrade?
