Introduction to Ice Fishing- Red Feather Lakes - 9:0 am
About the Event Have you ever wanted to try ice fishing but did not know where to start? Are you new to ice fishing and looking for some tips to help you catch more fish? Then, this is the class for you! Space is limited so register today. All fishing equipment will be provided or bring your gear and we will help you get it set up. All anglers 16 years old and older must have a valid fishing license and all vehicles must have a valid parks pass. Licenses cannot be sold at the lake, but can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart or any place hunting and fishing equipment is sold. About the Location We will meet at the parking lot on the west side of the lake.

About the Event This event is for all ages of anglers who have very little to no experience ice fishing. The class will educate participants about ice fishing equipment, techniques, and safety. All fishing equipment will be provided. Be sure to dress in layers to stay warm out on the ice. Please bring a small camping chair, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snacks and a cooler with ice if you wish to take fish you catch home. The class will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Veterans Free Fly Fishing - 6:15 pm
“The water holds no scars” is the motto of the Platte Rivers Veterans Fly Fishing program. The program provides free basic fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying, rod building classes, and fishing trips for veterans of all fishing abilities. Joe O’Connor, president of the program will present more information at the January 15th meeting of Rocky Mountain Flycasters, a co-sponsor of the program. The meeting will take place at the Ft Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive. Social hour and a fly tying demonstration begin at 6:15, with the program at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge. Rocky Mountain Flycasters was the tenth chapter authorized by Trout Unlimited, the nation's largest coldwater conservation agency, and is more than thirty-five years old. Current chapter conservation projects include restoration of native Greenback cutthroats and scientific monitoring of local waters.

LOCATION Boyd Lake State Park • 3720 N County Road 11-C, Loveland, CO 80538 EVENT LOCATION Marina Boat Ramp Cove PARKING Marina Boat Ramp Lot • Overflow into Swim Beach Lot HOURS All contestants must stop pre-fishing in the designated course by 7pm on Jan. 17. The day of the event the designated parking lot will open at 4am. Registration/Check-In time will depend on the Group letter assigned on your ticket when purchased. You will only be able to check in and register during the designated time for your group, or later. Check in times are as follows. The group letter is listed on your ticket: Group A: 5:00-5:15 AM Group B: 5:15-5:30 AM Group C: 5:30-5:45 AM Group D: 5:45-6:00 AM All anglers must check in before going on the fishing course. Once anglers are Registered/Checked-In they can go on the course to select their pre drilled hole. Holes are first come first served. Each angler can select and place equipment by their own hole but cannot save or reserve holes for others. The Tournament starts at 8am and ends at 12pm. Anglers are not allowed to drop their lines in the water until the 8am start. Anglers can use electronic depth finders or cameras to check depth before the event starts. All fish must be hooked, landed and on the ice by the 12PM buzzer to be a qualified fish for the event. All present pre-registered participants will be checked in prior to walk up participants entering the ice. Walk Up Ticket Sales: Registration/Check In time will be dependent on how many pre-registered tcikets are sold. See Registration section below for further details. REGISTRATION Registration closes at 6pm on January 17. More pre-registered letter groups may be added based on number of pre-registered participants at 15 minute intervals. Tickets will be available for walk-up purchase starting January 18, AFTER all present pre-registered participants are checked in. The timing walk up registration will open will be determined based on the number of pre-registered participants. Walk up tickets are cash/credit only for $55. About the Event This FREE event is for anglers of all ages who have very little to no ice fishing experience. It is limited to 25 participants. Topics to be covered include: ice safety, ice fishing equipment, and ice fishing techniques. All fishing equipment will provided, but please be sure to bring a chair, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snacks, and a cooler with ice if you wish to take fish home. Be sure to dress in layers to stay warm out on the ice. Tarryall Reservoir is located between Lake George and Jefferson on Park County Road 77 (Tarryall Road). It is approximately 40 minutes from Lake George and 30 minutes from Jefferson. Please arrive at the boat ramp before 7:30AM and have your waivers signed so that we can begin on time. We will meet in the parking lot off of County Road 77 above the boat ramp. NOTE: All participants 16 years or older MUST have a valid Colorado fishing license to participate. Also, if you have ice cleats, YakTrax or other ice traction devices for your footwear, please bring them. We will have a a few sets available for the day but not enough for everyone. We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including ice augers, poles and bait, but feel free to bring your own equipment. The clinic will take place at North Michigan Reservoir, which is easy to reach, and provide a beautiful setting for a day in the great outdoors. If you start getting chilly, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided near the fishing area. The event will be included with the purchase of a daily parks pass or for those with an annual state parks pass. Don't forget to bring your fishing license or to get one at the Moose Visitor Center! This event was initially scheduled for December 14th, but because of scheduling conflicts we had to move it to January 25th. We apologize if this has created any issues, or caused any disappointment. This includes 4 Trout, 10 Walleye in which only one may be over 24 inches, 6 Bass, no limit on White Bass, no limit on Black Bullhead, 50 Perch, 50 green Sunfish/Blue Gill, and 50 Crappie. ICE ADDICTION SPECIFIC RULES Each angler is restricted to the use of 1 hole and 1 line at a time. Anglers can bring as many rod/reel’s as they like and can move around to open holes as much as they like but are restricted to the use of 1 hole and 1 line at a time.
