Six Rivers to give presentations on summer job opportunities
EUREKA, California, December 6, 2016 Are you interested in working for the Six Rivers National Forest this summer? To highlight its summer field season opportunities, Six Rivers staff will be giving presentations about temporary employment with the forest at four North Coast locations the week of December 12. The one-hour presentations will provide information about temporary opportunities in fire management, recreation, cultural resources, forestry, and biological sciences.
Presentations will begin at 5:30 PM in the following locations:
December 12 Crescent City: Crescent City Fire Department, 255 West Washington Boulevard
December 13 Fortuna: California Conservation Corps, Fortuna Center, 1500 Alamar Way
December 14 Hoopa: Hoopa Fire Department, Training Room, 11121 Highway 96 (across from Hoopa High School)
December 15 Eureka: Six Rivers National Forest Headquarters, 1330 Bayshore Way.
Those in attendance will receive a handout on known vacancy announcements, where to apply, suggestions on resume development, interviewing and other helpful suggestions to assist the applicant. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer period for those in attendance to ask fire managers and resource specialists about the application and hiring process and to learn how they started their careers.
According to Forest Supervisor Merv George Jr., Its critically important to all of us on the Six Rivers that we keep our commitment to keep our communities informed about opportunities available on the forest.
For those unable to attend the presentations, information packets will also be available at all Six Rivers National Forest offices.
