Iron Gate Reservoir is a very much improved fishery from what it began at, the Bass fishing can net you 3-5 pound bass regularly if you know what you are doing. the lake is best known for its yellow perch population, being that there is no size limit. From Yreka, on Hwy I-5 go N 13 mi. Take the first Hornbrook exit, go E 12 mi. pavement ends, continue on gravel road to lake.
