Mark “Chief” Torrez Sets New Lake Record at Pyramid

Post By: Bassnfly      Posted: 1/14/2014 10:42:09 AM     Points: 5682
At the California BASS Nation State Team qualifying event at Pyramid Lake, Nov. 30 of 2013, Mark “Chief” Torrez landed the Big Bass of the event, a 4.04 lb. smallmouth. Today it was announced that Pyramid Lake has confirmed that it is now the lake record smallmouth bass to date.
Torrez caught the bass on a soft plastic Huddlebug crawfish imitation and jig head. From the Ventura County Bass Club’s Facebook page, “Chief's 4.04 Smallmouth caught at Pyramid Lake is now the new lake record. Talked to Lake Management today, it’s been a great day.”
Information about the Ventura County Bass Club, and other fishing organizations across the state of California, may be found in the “Fishing Clubs” tab at the top of the Fishexplorer California page.

That's one nice bass. While big fish at tournaments are not unusual, I don't recall records being set very often.

Congratulations.
