Northern California has the "water wolfs". As far as walleye, there are not any that I am aware of in California. However there are many salt water species that are awesome to catch and eat. I recommend getting out there and doing some sport fishing.
To be honest IceFishingFool, I have no idea which lakes have them nor how big they get. If you need, I can do some research and get some info for you. I am sure that they are not as big as other states due to the lack of attention they get in California as apposed to Minnesota, Tennessee, and especially Canada.
Scyry, dont forget about the Yellowfin Tuna, and Pacific Halibut...

Yak Addict Not necessary to go a lot of digging for the northerns, for me I fix them and taste like lobster. See they are supposed to be in Island Lake? No Idea where that is. Last time out got into the sea bass, and as I recall were good table fair. Like the idea of the Yellowfin tuna, they like hooking into a chevy on the interstate ? Folsom lake would be close by to where I will be going. Anyone been fishing Folsom ? Boat ramps ?
