US-34 to Co Rd 43 to McGraw Rand Rd to Cow Creek Trailhead. While it's a short 1.3 mile hike to West Creek, there's an altitude gain of nearly 800 feet in just 0.6 of a mile from the trailhead. The descent to West Creek is 800 feet, wiping out the altitude gain. There's barely a flat portion on the trail to West Creek. The trail is not easy to negotiate with exposed roots, loose rook, sand, loose gravel and small boulders.
