Carson Lake is one of the lakes in the Kannah Creek Basin of the Grand Mesa. Kannah Creek and the lakes in this area serve as the water supply for Grand Junction. Carson Lake was constructed in 1947 to store the water from the Grand Mesa, which was considered a higher quality water source than the Colorado River which was used for many years.
Fom Mesa, travel south on Highway 65 for approximately 18 miles to the Lands End Road (Forest Service Road 100). Turn right and proceed 3.3 miles to Carson Lake Road 108. Turn left and drive to the parking lot.
